Consortium Wins Ft 85 bln M6 Tender

A consortium of Austrian and German construction companies has won a tender to build a section of the M6 motorway between Érd and Dunaújváros and operate it for 22 years, the Ministry of Economics and Transport announced on Friday.

The consortium includes Bilfinger Berger BOT of Germany, and two Austrian companies, Porr Infrastruktur and Swietelsky International Baugesellschaft.

The 57-kilometer stretch will cost around Ft 85 billion to build.

Work could start as early as autumn of this year and the stretch could be finished by May 2006.
