Prime Minister Miller Resigns

Prime Minister Leszek Miller will resign on May 2.

"There is no Leszek Miller problem. If it is to serve the nation and the country's Left, my choice is to resign from the government," said Miller. Today, the President will start talks with all the political parties in order to choose a new Prime Minister who would also create a new government.

Marek Belka, a former finance minister, is a possible candidate.

President Kwasniewski believes that if the new government does not gain the support of the majority of Sejm, then early parliamentary elections will have to be called.
